The K-5 Art Curriculum here at Fifth Avenue School is designed to develop student knowledge of art materials, art history, art techniques, art vocabulary, and art processes. It is also my goal for children to learn how to work together in a healthy and cooperative classroom environment.

Each grade level completes different art projects based on a variety of artists or art movements. Each project usually takes about three classes (three weeks) to complete from start to finish. Every project is set up to build upon knowledge acquired in previous lessons.

As students move from grade to grade, their knowledge of the arts will increase. My ultimate goal is for each child to leave this school with a better understanding and appreciation for the arts.
